There is no doubt that technology has brought about a lot of advancement in communication and information dissemination. This is why we have an aspect of technology termed, ‘Information and Communication Technology’, ‘ICT’ for short. This has also brought about a very interesting aspect, known as, ‘Social Networking’. As interesting as this have proven to be, there are some factors which tends to show human abuse of this priceless invention. Yes! Abuse. Social network has reshaped beautifully, how we communicate to family members, friends, loved ones, meeting new people and sharing information. However, there are various ways by which SN has been abused over the years and in accordance with it’s advancements. Some of the ways SN have been abused are: scams, immoral exposure, addiction, negative influences, social behavioura abuse etc. Now, I would like to focus on social behavioural abuse of SN.
I term this behavioural abuse as Social Network Attitude Problems of Interaction, ‘SNAPIs’. This is because, it has to do with our attitude towards other people we share the social network with. I can feel someone raising an eyebrow already. Well, read on because we must get to the bottom of this issue. Have you ever had reasons not to accept new friends requests, post malicious or mischievous status, snub or ignore friends during a conversation, falsify or impersonate who you are not, and so on. If you have done any of these, or exhibited a related attitude, then be my guest, because, we are both guilty of SNAPIs.
To be continued…
